Sustainability Policy

Flux IT is committed to operating in a sustainable manner. We believe that sustainability is essential for the long-term health of our business and the planet. In 2022, the global generation of e-waste was estimated to be 59.6 million metric tons. This is an increase of 2.5% from 2021. The majority of e-waste is generated in developed countries, with the top five producers being the United States, China, Japan, Germany, and India. Although the UK is not far behind these countries. 

E-waste is a major environmental problem. It contains hazardous materials such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, which can pollute the environment if they are not 

disposed of properly. E-waste can also be a source of greenhouse gasses, which contribute to climate change.

Several things can be done to reduce the amount of e-waste. One is to extend the lifespan of electronic products by repairing them when they break down. Another is to recycle e-waste properly. There are many e-waste recycling programs available, the UK is a signatory to the WEEE Directive, which requires all member states to collect and recycle at least 45% of their e-waste by weight.

• E-waste is the fastest-growing waste stream in the world.
• Only about 12.5% of e-waste is recycled globally.
• The remaining 87.5% of e-waste is either landfilled or incinerated, which releases harmful pollutants into the environment.
• E-waste contains a variety of hazardous materials, including lead, mercury, and cadmium, which can pollute the environment and harm human health.
• Recycling e-waste helps to reduce pollution and conserve natural resources.
• If you have any old or redundant IT equipment we can recycle it properly.  Often we can offer a cost-neutral collection so there is no charge, and we’ll provide you with all the documents to confirm the ethical disposal. 
• This policy outlines our commitment to sustainability and sets out the actions we will take to reduce our environmental impact.

• We will refurbish our used IT hardware to the highest standards.
• We will recycle all of our waste, including e-waste.
• We will use sustainable materials in our packaging and operations.
• We will support the development of sustainable technologies.
